About Hindustan Football Club : The SOUL and ITS SAGA FANS' CORNER
At Hindustan Football Club popularly known as “Hindustan
or (Incorporated under Companies Act, 1956) football is not a “passion or “sport but our
LIFE. With our legacy in football spanning over six decades, we are
persistently applauded for our groundbreaking approach in mentoring our
sporting talents. Being the first club in Delhi to pursue corporate
sponsorship(s) in 1996, we have persistently involved ourselves in raising
standards of the sport nationally. Our sponsors include ONGC, SAIL,
BHEL, Jagatjit Industries, Coca-Cola(India),
Electrolux(India), Group 4 Securicor, Nestle (India), Red Chief Shoes, PHI
Learning, Shehnai Mouth Freshner and Phoenix Shoes. These
sponsorships have enabled us to attract new talent(s), while retaining
existing best, by providing financial incentives along with improved
coaching facilities to our players. Hindustan FC is a registered
organization with an income tax exemption yet another rare distinction
bestowed upon us by Income Tax Department after a thorough scrutiny of our
club’s financial records.
FIFA President Joseph Sepp Blatter during his last visit at Delhi, stressed
that club football in India needs to get more professional and this
has been our endeavour over the years. With the ranks of the club
invariably studded with stars, achievements have all along been creditable.
Hindustan FC recruits talents not just from Delhi but across the country as
well as abroad. Nationals of various countries, including: Brazil, France,
Nigeria, Benin Republic and Ghana, have donned in HFC colors. These players
bring in not just diversity but also talents enabling us to harness a team
by raising their touchstones to a greater level while providing vital
international exposure to our domestic talents.
Hindustan FC firmly believes in the ability of coaches in mending talents. It had enrolled 3 times former Indian Team Captain Manoranjan Bhattacharya, Former Mohan Bagan Nigerian Coach and Player Bernard Oparanozie, Former Indian International Ranjit Thapa, Pro Coaching License from Brazil (CBA) degree holder Nigerian Tope Ayodeji Fuja, AFC/JFA 'C' Licence holder Michiteru Mita, AFC B licensed coach Abhijoy Basu & AFC C licensed coach Sandeep Dhole, as its coaches during the years.
We have participated in all major domestic football tournaments including second division ILeague for 7 years, Federation Cup as well as amongst the world’s oldest football tournament Durand Cup, prominent LG CUP, ONGC CUP and many other. In these events HFC has acquired for itself the credibility. HFC had been either a Champion or Runners-up of the Delhi Senior Division League Championship on several occasions.
We have, also, established a football academy to identify and groom budding
football talent(s). This academy is professionally managed by a strong team
comprising of a Technical Director, Coach and an Administrator with
solid credentials. This academy has also participated in the under-15
Manchester United Cup qualifying round matches at Chandigarh, First Danone Cup
tournament at Delhi and the
Continental Cup held in USA. This year we also have plans to start a girl’s
football team. For long there haven’t been any strong efforts in raising a
team to nurture football talents amongst females in Delhi and our initiative
in this regard, in many ways, would make a strong beginning.
Even more commended is our annual event for all football-playing schools in
Delhi. This even puts together a popular prize money football tournament,in
which all football playing leading public schools participate. The HFC also
have a rare credit of organizing a seminar/symposium on various subjects relating to Indian football for
the last 12 Years. Eminent football
personalities in India including professional referees, coaches of leading
Indian football clubs and football administrators, players have participated
in this event.
In India football has made great strides over the years even on an
international stage. With Indian national team beating Syria twice to claim
the ONGC-Nehru-Cup final , this is well established. At Hindustan Football Cup
we also believe that game of football will attract a huge following in India.
Growing corporate sponsorship to this game is a sure indication to the fact
that football will achieve its full potential in the foreseeable future.
Hindustan FC is proud of its contribution to the game of football in the
Capital of India. We will continue to look for innovative ways to promote
the enthusiasm amongst the masses for the game in every ways possible.
