Hindustan FC, the current Champion (2010) and Joint Champion (2009) of Delhi Senior Division League, is a Delhi-based football club with a rich tradition of football. Hindustan FC is in existence for the last 61 years and is widely recognized for its innovative approach to the game. Hindustan FC was the first club in Delhi to successfully pursue corporate sponsorship in 1996 for the benefit of its players while looking for ways to identify and nurture local talent. Hindustan FC is a registered organization and has been granted Income Tax exemption by the Income Tax department after a thorough scrutiny of the club’s records.
The club and its interests have been sponsored by prominent companies and multinationals in India
including Coca-Cola, Electrolux, Group 4 Securicor, Phoenix Shoes, ONGC and SAIL. This sponsorship has helped the club attract new talent and retain existing talent by providing financial incentives, better
practice facilities, football kit and professional coaching to players.
Hindustan FC recruits local talent from various football-playing states in India as well as from other
countries. Players from countries as diverse as Brazil, France, Nigeria, the Benin Republic, and Ghana
have all donned Hindustan FC colors. These international players bring diversity and talent to the team
and help raise the standard of play to a higher level by providing vital international exposure to our
domestic talent.

Hindustan FC recruited a former India Team Captain and reputed player, Manoranjan Bhattacharya, as its coach for 2009. In previous years, stalwarts such as former Olympian S. S. Hakim and Bernard Oparanzole from Nigeria have been employed by the club to coach the team.
Hindustan FC participates in all major domestic national football tournaments including 2nd Division ILeague, Federation Cup and the Durand Cup, India’s oldest tournament and one of the oldest football tournaments in the world. Hindustan FC has acquitted itself creditably and has been a Champion or Runner-up of the Delhi Senior Division League Championship on several occasions. This year, the Hindustan FC has also been invited by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the All India Football
Federation (AIFF) to participate in the AFC-sponsored Delhi Elite League which is to be held in Delhi for the first time.
Hindustan FC also established a football academy to identify and groom budding football talent. The academy is professionally managed by a team comprising of a technical director, a coach and an administrator. The academy has participated in the under-15 Manchester United Cup qualification round matches at Chandigarh, Danone Cup at Delhi and the Continental Cup held in the USA. Also, for the first time in Delhi, the Hindustan FC plans to adopt a girls’ football team which participates in the Girls’ league and other tournaments to harness the burgeoning football talent of young females in Delhi. Last but not least, Hindustan FC organizes an annual event for all football-playing schools in Delhi which combines a popular school football tournament with a seminar/symposium on various subjects related to football. Eminent football personalities in India including professional referees, coaches of leading Indian football clubs and football administrators participate in this event.
Indian football has made great strides on the international stage with the Indian national team beating Syria twice to win the ONGC-Nehru Cup final. We believe that the game of football will attract a huge following in India and growing corporate sponsorship indicates that it will achieve its full potential in the foreseeable future. Hindustan FC is proud of its contributions to the game of football in the Capital of India and continues to look for innovative ways to generate ever greater interest in game.
